Journey To The Stars (exhibition / film) 2009

Journey to the Stars is a 25 minute exhibition film showing in the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. The film is a full 180 degree projection onto the dome of the planetarium, so the images below only show a section of the full visuals.

The majority of visuals for this production are direct representations of data we recieved from numerous scientific collaborators, and were realized using a combination of Maya, Renderman, Houdini and two in-house renderers: SPOT, which was used for galaxy renders, and MPIRE, which was used for several volumetric elements in the show.
